    Tamer Onder received his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from Cornell University in 2002 and his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he studied cancer cell invasion and metastasis in the laboratory of Robert Weinberg at the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research. In 2008, he joined the laboratory of George Daley at the Children’s Hospital Boston and Harvard Medical School. There he utilized forward genetics and epigenomic approaches to understand the role of chromatin modifiers in somatic cell reprogramming and the mechanisms of induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) generation. In 2012, Dr. Onder joined Koç University School of Medicine as an Assistant Professor. He is a member of the Science Academy (Bilim Akademisi) and a recipient of Turkish Academy of Sciences Young Scientists Award (TUBA). Work in the Onder lab is supported by European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO), EU FP7 Marie Curie Program, and the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK).
